We made it through the first week of school! Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this new environment of remote learning.
Please review this list of student expectations under remote learning. All students should have been in contact with their teachers this week.
Student Expectations
-
Attendance is monitored
-
Students are expected to interact with their teacher and the Learning Management Systems (Canvas, Edgenuity, Google Classroom) throughout the week, not solely on the days in which they have class meetings
-
The expectation for all students is that their school day is from 8:30-3:30. This includes the synchronous sessions, as well as asynchronous sessions, which may take the form of recorded lectures, short videos, readings, google forms etc. Each course will provide work throughout the week for a student, not only on the days in which they have a synchronous session.
-
Synchronous class meetings are scheduled 2-3 times a week, this is done to ensure students are given some flexibility in completing tasks, and to ensure their days are not spent primarily in virtual meetings, but also allow time for task completion.
-
These synchronous class meetings are held to allow student to student, and student to teacher discourse which is vital to learning. This time may be structured with direct instruction or may be used to discuss pre-recorded lectures or other class assignments.
-
Assignments are posted weekly by each teacher and students are expected to have completed assignments by the assigned due dates.
-
Office hours are scheduled in order that teachers may provide small group instruction, tutoring, remediation, enrichment, or conferences to address individual questions and issues.
